Our overall mission is to create an environment within the school district that fosters open communication among parents, teachers, administrators and community members regarding the needs of our students with disabilities.

Your insights and experiences are invaluable to creating a complete and accurate picture of your child’s unique needs. No special education plan can truly succeed without your active participation, input, and approval.

The Tiverton Special Education Local Advisory Committee (SELAC) is here to support you on this journey. As a collaborative group of parents and professionals, we work together to provide guidance and advice to the Student Services Department regarding special education services. Our mission is to advocate for the needs and rights of students receiving special education services and those with diverse learning needs in our community.
