Information:
1. Field Day: Many families like to participate in Field Day. The date/time will be Friday, June 18 from 11:40 – 2:30 pm. Please volunteer to help us if you can, so we can run lots of games for our students. Just send in a note with your child, and we’ll make sure it get to our Field Day coordinators. I’d like to thank Tonya Murray, Tom Murray, and Kim McKenna for coordinating Field Day in advance.

Other Important Field Day Notes:
All students are required to stay with their teacher and class, even if their parent is present. This is for safety.
The playgrounds are off-limits for all children during Field Day.

If you wish to take your child home from Field Day early, you will need to
i. Tell your child’s teacher, then
ii. Sign them out with Mrs. Wordell at the Sign Out Table, which will be located at the entrance of the school beginning at 2:00 pm.
Please have your child wear bug spray (for ticks), sunscreen (if the weather holds), and sneakers that are securely tied to their feet.

What to Wear: Grades K-3 – Feinstein Jr. Scholar Shirts; Gr. 4 – White Graduation T-Shirt.

Parking: Please park in the back parking lot, or along the street. Please do not double park on the street, in case an emergency vehicle needs access.

PLEASE NO ANIMALS (even if your animal is on a leash).

Kindergarten: Field Day is scheduled during PM Kindergarten. If you have a child in AM Kindergarten and would like to participate, please bring your child to school at 12:45. You MUST be present the ENTIRE TIME your AM Kindergarten child is here.

Younger Siblings: Our Field Day is for Fort Barton School students ONLY. There will be a small area for non-school-aged siblings, but a parent must be with the non-school-aged child the ENTIRE time (for safety). Non-school-aged children are NOT allowed to play the same games, due to safety. Siblings whom may be older than 4th grade are also NOT allowed to play Field Day games, again for safety, but they may be able to earn Community Service credit if Mrs. Murray is informed ahead of time.

Change of Clothes: Some of our Field Day games are water-based games. Unfortunately, some children do not like being in wet clothes or shoes. If this happens to apply to your child, please pack a change of clothes or sneakers for your child to change into after Field Day has ended.
I hope everyone has a great week, and I look forward to seeing you on Field Day – so far, the weather looks like it will be nice!
