The Newport County Regional Special
Education Program (NCRSEP) serves the towns of Tiverton, Little Compton, & Middletown. Its purpose is to provide the full continuum of special education
services for children with disabilities with Individual Education Programs (IEPs) who reside in these three towns.
The NCRSEP collaborates with Tiverton School Department personnel to provide specialized instruction and related services for our students. Parents are encouraged to work with their
child's Principal and teachers throughout this process.
Supplemental special education and related services are provided to identified students starting at age three, through age twenty-one or their high school graduation. Should you suspect that your child may have a disability which adversely impacts his/her educational performance, please talk to your school principal to make a referral for a special education evaluation.
Decisions about special education assessment, eligibility, and services are always made with parents involved as full participants.
If you are relocating to Tiverton and your child has an existing Individual Education Program (IEP) from another school district, please share this information at or before registration. NCRSEP and our district staff will review the supports and services that your child needs, and make a plan for the IEP to be honored.
