District-wide System of Supports:
The Tiverton School Department values instruction that is personalized, challenging, and tailored to the needs of each student. Across the grade levels, teachers use ongoing, brief formative assessments to drive and refine instruction to best support each student.
We also engage in universal district-wide benchmarking in the areas of reading and mathematics. All students are given brief screening assessments that are nationally normed and predictive of school success. These assessments are used together with student's classwork and other data to determine what personalized supports may be needed for each child. We work hard to personalize supports for each child.
In accordance with federal and state requirements, our students participate in the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessments at the end of grades 3-9.
