The Tiverton School District is excited to launch Google Apps for Education student accounts. We intend to use these accounts to strengthen, engage, and better prepare our students. These accounts will be activated in mid-October.
Google Apps for Education is an internet-based suite of tools which allows our staff and students to create and store documents, access information, and collaborate virtually. With individual accounts, students may log into and use the 450+ new computer devices that the district has acquired, as well as the existing older devices in use throughout the district, and access their documents from home or elsewhere via the itnernet.
As with any educational endeavor, a strong partnership with families is essential to a successful launch. To discuss how Google Apps for Education will be used at your child's school, please call or email your child’s principal. He or she will be happy to answer your questions and help you to understand how the accounts will be used and what level of access your child's account will have. Access is based on grade level to assure that student use is aligned with educational goals and age-appropriate safeguards.
